Vision Statement

2004 Venus Envy prepared to expand to the upper Mississippi River corridor
by exploring potential sister cities.
The Quad Cities of Iowa and Illinois, on the bend of the Mississippi,
emerged as the ideal setting based on several unique features.
and volunteers of MidCoast Fine Arts,
a community development arts agency serving the Quad Cities,

Venus Envy found that the Quad Cities maintains
a remarkable grassroots approach to community arts,
has strong female leadership in the local arts community
and has an expanding array of arts events and venues.
MidCoast Fine Arts embraced the event
and fostered a steering committee of artists
and community development professionals
to create Venus Envy Quad Cities.
An affiliate event of Venus Envy Saint Louis,
Venus Envy Quad Cities celebrated its inaugural event in April 2005,
hosted by MidCoast Fine Arts at their new arts warehouse,
The Bucktown Center for the Arts,
in Davenport, Iowa, one of the Quad Cities.

Now in its fourth year,
Venus Envy Quad Cities continues to partner with MidCoast and the galleries
and studios of the Bucktown Center for the Arts
in the presentation of this successful community arts event.

Mark your calendar for the 2008 Venus Envy Quad Cities
celebration on Saturday, May 3 from 6 to 11 p.m. at the
Bucktown Center for the Arts!
